Siren (1986-1989): a Heavy Metal band from Florida, USA.
They were a band that showed great potential in their demos but that potential for whatever reason failed to materialize for Siren when recorded for real. With the membership of Rob Phillips (guitar), Gregg Culbertson (bass), Brian Law (drums) and Doug Lee (vocals) they released their debut No Place Like Home in 1986, an album that featured several of those aforementioned demo tracks, giving the album flashes of the brilliance that this band seemed to possess, but the effort was doomed from the start due to their choice for an album cover, combined with little promotion from the record label, led to the album being ignored by most of the Metal crowd. The follow-up album Financial Suicide (1989) featuring only Lee returning with Brian Hendrickson (guitar), Less Talent (bass) and David Smith (drums) proved to be poorly produced and showed a lack of direction. Doug Lee would then move to Mekong Delta, and the act split.
