Meanstreak (1985-1988): a Thrash Metal band from New York, New York, USA.
Opening in 1985, Meanstreak was formed by guitarists Marlene Apuzzo and Rena Sands, who then recruited Bettina France (vocals), Martens Pace (bass) and Diane Keyser (drums). Their Alex Perialas and Rob Hunter (ex-Raven) debut Roadkill (1988) recorded in one week on the 'Music For Nations' label made them the first all-female Thrash act. Their record breaking achievement of being the first in the field was their only achievement for the album failed to impress by being ill focused, overly formulaic with weak vocals The act was not heard from again and their album years later would be of interest only to collectors of Thrash more for its historical value than the music it contained.
