Biography

Sisko (1996-present): a Gothic band from Frankfurt, Germany.

othic metal band Sisko formed in Split, Croatia by brothers Bruno Sisko (vocals) and Igor Sisko (guitars) in January of 1996. At first the "Gruesome Twosome" used changing guest musicians and computers to complete their line-up for live obligations, as well as in the studio.

The brothers would relocate to Germany and in 1997 their first release, the self-produced EP (CD-Maxi) titled simply 1 is published, but less than a year later, in August of 1998, Igor was hit by a car forcing the band to take a break while he recovered. In July 1999 the same song appears on the Demonic Metal Vol. 2 compilation by the Metal Heads heavy metal Fan Club. In February of 2002 their second CD-Maxi 2 was released with tracks from it likewise appearing on compilations and magazine promotional inserts, with their first TV appearance on NBC's Giga show on January 1, 2001 before signing with 'Rabazco Publishing/BMG' in April 2002; after being voted best newcomer band by Rock Hard Magazine two years before. July of that year saw them release their 3rd Maxi single titled 3, with their Whatever release appearing on a CD insert by Legacy Magazine in October 2002 to receive third place at Demo Listening Session a year later, the only band to be awarded twice, while Gothic Magazine featured their Tell Me track on their Goth Is What You Make It Vol. 2 compilation in March 2003.

Their debut Video, Dreaming Yellow, arrived shortly after; a video directed by Bruno's childhood friend Marc Orband, the clip first appearing on local public TV; but by an evil twist of fate, Orband dies in a car accident a year later and the band is compelled to take a break. At this point its the video that propels the band forward by winning both the Goethe vs. Schiller contest at the Goethe Institute Mannheim-Heidleberg in September 2005 and the previous Onyx channel's Schattenreich vote with a 62% margin.
