Stone Fury

Biography

Stone Fury (1983-1986): a Heavy Metal band from Los Angeles, California, USA.

F

ounded in 1983, Stone Fury was started by front-man and guitarist Lenny Wolf (who had just got off the plane from Hamburg, Germany) and vocalist/guitarist Bruce Gawdy. Shortly later they would complete the line-up with Rick Wilson (bass/vocals) and Jody Cortez (drums) and sign to 'MCA' to release Burns Like A Star (1985) with Wolf wearing his influences boldly on his sleeve right off the bat giving the album an over-all Led Zeppelin feel from his best Robert Plant impression; the album hovered in the US top 200 for a couple of months there-after. A follow-up, Let Them Talk, eventually came in November of 1986 before they faded into history when Wolf returned to Germany to eventually return to the US to form the even more Led Zeppelin-esq outfit Kingdom Come, with Gowdy eventually forming World Trade.
