TyrantBiographyTyrant (1983-present): a Heavy Metal band from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. A lthough this band officially started in 1980 under the name of Slyder they would reform in 1983 under the current moniker. The band has had a tremendous number of membership changes over the years so to keep the writing simple we will list them here, starting with the bass role: Jason Smith, Tim Partridge, Dave McDonell, Jurgen Ortman, Paul Hassman, Dale Walton and Andy Hatton. The membership changes weren't limited to just bass, both guitar positions also suffered the same fate to feature: Brett Collidge, Andrew Zarins, Simon Wilson and Grant Wallace. In-line with changes, drums have been more stable to feature Nathan Sproule (Chainsaw Hookers/ex-Psychonaut) and Robert Zarins. By the time 2011 rolls along the membership settled on founding members James Shelverton (Espionage/ex-(Seppuku/Solar Thorn/Lady Crimson/Scaphis); drums) and Neil "Steel" Wilson (Roadkill/Neil Steel); vocals), along with Justine Tedington (bass), Adrian Scott (guitars) and Mick Adkins (guitars). During the tenure of all these members, Australia's Tyrant would release Never Too Loud, their EP debut (1984), Freaks of Nature (2000), Thunder Down Under (2003), the live set Live Bootleg (2005), Save the Devil (2011) and the compilation effort Thunder and Steel (2017).
