Blaspheme

Biography

Blaspheme (1983-1986, 2010-present): a NWOBHM band from Paris, France.

O

ne of a small group of similar sounding early 1980s French 'Priest/'Maiden' hybrid metal bands Blaspheme also mixed NWOBHM and thrash; almost an early form of power metal. With the line-up of Marc Fery (vocals), Pierre Holzhaeuser (guitar), Philippe Guadignino (bass) and Regis Martin (drums) they would complete two self-released albums, Blaspheme (1984) and Desir De Vampyr (1985), before disappearing into obscurity a year later shortly after Eric Fermentel replaced Marc Fery.

The group reformed for one concert in July, 1997 in Bars, France, as well as to play at the Paris, France Metal Festival 2008.

A more permanent reunification occurred in 2010 with the release of Briser le silence (2010) and Blasphème en Live (live) in 2014.
