Biography

Labyrinth (1995-present): a Progressive Metal band from Italy.

T

he act Labyrinth was an Italian band that gained a reputation over the 1990s as a standout progressive metal band, and, along with Rhapsody, is among Italy's most well known bands in the field. Until recently Fates Warning mixed with speed metal influenced their work. With the membership of Fabio Lione (Real Name: Joe Terry; vocals), Carlo Magnani (Real Name: Olaf Thorsen; guitars), Andrea Cantarelli (guitar), Cristiano Bertocco (bass), Ken Taylor (keyboards) and Frank Andiver (drums), they would release the Piece of Time EP in 1995, followed by No Limits (1996). The follow-up Return to Heaven Denied (1998) featuring Roberto Tiranti replacing Terry, Andrea De Paoli replacing Taylor, and Mat Stancioiu replacing Andiver for Timeless Crime EP (1999), Sons of Thunder (2001) and Labryrinth (2003). Labrynth saw Andrea Cantarelli replaced Carlo Magnani for Labrynth .

Now under the membership of Roberto Tiranti (vocals/bass), Andrea (guitars), Pier Gonella (guitars), Mattia Stancioiu(drums/vocals (screams)) and Andrea De Paoli (keyboards/piano/programming) 6 Days to Nowhere would arrive in 2007 to be followed by Return to Heaven Denied Pt. II: "A Midnight Autumn's Dream" (2010).

Only Tiranti and Cantarelli remained for Architecture of a God (2017) where new members Olaf Thörsen (guitars/narration (track 7)), Nik Mazzucconi (bass), Oleg Smirnoff (keyboards) and John Macaluso (drums). The drum position was taken over by Matt Peruzzi for Welcome to the Absurd Circus (2021).
