Deathguy, was formed in August 1998 by Verapol Emaree (a.k.a. Ong; guitar) and Thanit Thepsitrakorn (a.k.a. Joe; vocals/bass). They started to write songs and recorded their debut EP Introduction '98 later that same year featuring a Death/Thrash Metal mix with programmed drums, grayscale cover and Thai lyrics.
In 1999-2000, the pair added Nuttaphum Prapaiboon (a.k.a. Imm; guitar) and Suppakit (ex-Annular Eclipse; drums), who would debut at festival gigs in Thailand like God Beheaded Live 2000, Demonic II, Crossroads Metal Party.
In August 2000 their first album The Secondary Quest had arrived with Power/Death Metal styles, synth. work, full colour cover and English lyrics. The album got local distribution by Justice Music' but only in only tape format. Side projects were also in the works with Nuttaphum as guitarist in Death Metal act Black Fire, while Thanit released a demo of his man Death Metal side-project She's Gore.
The membership in Deathguy was now revised to include the returning Emaree, Prapaiboon, Thepsitrakorn and added Suppakit Chuersuwan (a.k.a. Link; drums) and the of their follow-up EP named Born To Be Burn finally arrived. In 2001, Deathguy played support to Sodom at that year's Satan Spawned Fest.
In 2002, Trinity Records' of Hong Kong re-released Deathguy's LP and EP into CD format for worldwide sale with The Legend Of Romancer, their first album to follow shortly later showing them to be known more as Melodic Black/Death Metal band.
The 2003 Rock Fest was the last time for Prapaiboon for by summer he was out leaving them as a 3 piece again. A new promo was released shortly later in the form of The Beast Zingle Promo was released in that same day.
