Tvangeste had been a proposal for sometime but finally came together in 1997 when all the members: Miron (guitars/vocals), Edgar (bass/vocals), Julia (keyboards), Nikolay (guitar) and Asmodeus (drums) gathered in one place and started rehearsals resulting in their 1997 single Blood Dreams. The line-up, however, had been reduced to Miron (guitar/vocals/bass/drums/programming), Victoria (keyboards) and Nikolay (guitar/bass) for their1998 demo Thinking
By their debut album, Damnation Of Regiomontum (2000; released in 2001 on the Norwegian Valgalder' label), the line-up had been massively augmented with Michael 'Miron' Chirva (vocals/guitar) and Nikolay Kazmin (guitar) returning with Victoria Koulbachnaya (keyboards), Vano Mayoroff (bass), and guests Anna (cello) and Olaa (fem. vocals). Tvangeste was chosen as "the best Black Metal act in ex-USSR countries of 2000". Over 5000 CDs of the album were sold in C.I.S. countries and in March of 2001, Naturelle (Miron's wife) joined the band as keyboardist.
In the beginning of 2001 Miron and Naturelle began the process of new album creation. They decided to create not just a sequel to the past work but something more professional and more powerful, interesting, fresh and new. The Baltic Symphony Orchestra was hired for this recording, as was the Prussian Chamber Choir. The album would also feature yet another modified line-up of the Chirva siblings on vocals/solo guitar and keyboards/orchestra arrangements respectively, along with the returning Kazmin (guitar), Koulbachnaja (keyboards/flute) and Mayoroff (guitar), along with Max Naumoff (bass), Olaa (fem. vocals), and guests Cezar Mielko (drums), Katya (violin), Baltic Symphony Orchestra and the Prussian Chamber Choir. The resulting FireStorm album emerged on the World Chaos' roster in 2003.
