Infernal Method formed as a 5 piece Melodic Death Metal band from Sydney Australia, forging new grounds in technicality and musicianship in a genre that is prevalently dominated by American and European bands.
Initially a solo project of Peter Michael Peric (of Syphilis/ex-Automation/ex Deadspawn; guitar), with Aaron Bilbija (guitar), Andrew Lilley (guitar) and, Jonah Weingarten (keyboard) assisting, the recorded works quickly caught the attention of numerous well known musicians involved in the Australian Metal scene including Grahame Goode (ex-Automation/ex-Neophobia/ex-Cryogenic; drums), Jamie Stinson (a.k.a. Astennu; ex-Dimmu Borgir/ex-Lord Kaos; guitar), Lee Glanzmann (of Syphilis; bass) and Joss Separovic (of Samsaras Wound/of Shackles; vocals); all of whom would soon become permanent members of the operation.
Two months after the band's founding, Infernal Method played their first and somewhat controversial performance at Australia's Metal for the Brain 11. April 2002 saw the band perform at Big God's Metal Massacre 2 in Melbourne, with Chalice, Vanishing Point and Hellspawn. A 3 song Demo CD featuring the band's initial works titled Demo 2002 (2002) was released in May, 2002.
