t all began in the late 80s / early 90s when guitarist Mathias Holm and vocalist H.B Anderson ended up in the same band The N Sin which was an offspring of Anderson's Thrash Metal band Fury. The N Sin played Glam in the style ofG 'n R, Poison, Kingpin, etc. Unfortunately (or not?!) the band split up but Holm and Anderson continued to write songs together, it was working out fine and they wrote several songs until they went their separate ways in 1992.
Some 10 years later they hooked up again and found out that they had much more to give each other and rest of the world creatively and they complement each other very well. The y asked Conny Payne (bass), currently working with Holm on his solo project, to join.
The idea to get together again came up when Anderson found his great old, old grandfather Xerxes Anderson's (a.k.a. Prof. Xandau 1807 ~ 1851) notes from his therapy sessions. Prof. Xandau was a very respected therapist during the first half of 19th century an had his sessions all over the world based in both Europe and the U.S. These notes are the solid ground to this project and are used to tell a true story about psychological thoughts and human behaviours. The memory notes depict what's going on in the human mind in different situations and with no names involved so its totally ano nymous.
Musically MindSplit woukld become a mixture of Progressive Metal and Classical Hard Rock under the influences of Dream Theater, Mike Oldfield, Yngwie Malmsteen, Vinnie Moore, Al Di Meola, Tony Macalpine, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Pink Floyd, Queensrÿche, Frank Zappa. Their debut release of The Civil Human Art Of Significance would display thier style clearly featuring Jon Skäre on drums.
