Formed in 1997 by Jari Kuusisto (guitar) and Stefan Westerberg (drums) and with fellow members, Johan Magnusson (guitars), Dennis Vestman (bass), Jonas Kjellgren (vocals) joining soon after, Carnal Forge would release their debut, Who's Gonna Burn in 1998 on the 'War Music' label. By 2000, they would switch to 'Century Media' to release, Firedemon (2000).
By the time the band was ready for their European tour supporting The Haunted and Nile, Petri Kuusisto had joined.
In 2001 Lars Linden joined as a session musician for the recording of Please... die! (2001), The More You Suffer (2003) and Aren't You Dead Yet (2004); the latter continuing to see the band expand their fan base.
Jens C. Mortensen (Vocals) would join the band late 2004. In January 2007, the band signed to 'Candlelight Records'. Testify For My Victims (2007) arrived several years later.
In November 2007 both Mortensen and Kuusisto decided to part ways with with the band for personal reasons. Shortly after, replacements were found in Peter Tuthill (Ex-Construcdead; Vocals) and Dino Medanhodzic (Ex-Soulbreach; Guitar).
January 2010 saw Stefan Westerberg leave the band to be replaced by Chris Barkensjö, with Stefan Westerbergs leaving shortly after. The band broke up shortly later so members could engage in side projects, reforming in 2013.
