Supreme Majesty originally evolved from a former outfit, under a different name and on a much larger label. For untold reasons, after publishing several albums with so-called "label-X", they decided to start again and forget about the past, and so in 1999 they did just that under the name Supreme Majesty. The band consisted of members from several previous Metal acts located in the south of Sweden with influences ranging from Iced Earth, Dio, Running Wild, as well as '70s acts Led Zeppelin and BlackSabbath. The band was further augmented by the inclusion of singer Rikard Larsson, from the Swedish Thrash act Sanzia, who's resume included bands like Mercy and Magica and formal training in singing. Shortly after their discovery by 'Loud N' Proud Records' of Sweden their debut, the MCD Divine Enigma, was launched in 1999.
