Dethronement formed in late 1996 by members of local acts from Vaxjo, Sweden. The first line up consisted of Jorgen Örnhem (vocals/bass), Johan Johansson (guitar) and Andreas Mitroulis (drums). It was in early 1997 when they completed their first studio recording, a nine track tape; four of these tracks would subsequently be placed on a demo entitled simply Promo-97. In April 1997 they obtained the services of a new guitar player, which prompted performances around their hometown. Breeding The Demonseed, their second demo attempt, was released in June 1998 and it received a warmwelcome. Later that year, 'Loud N' Proud Records' signed them and in June 1999 they released their debut full length, Survival Of The Sickest.
