Goatsnake

F

ormer Obsessed bassist and drummer Guy Pinhas and Greg Rogers and ex-Wool/ex-Scream frontman Peter Stahl founded Goatsnake in 1998. Their background influences proved to be problem for their first release Goatsnake Vol. 1 (1999), an album that borrowed largely from Black Sabbath and Mudhoney. Grohl's whiny voice, however, had improved since his Scream days; the platter coming across as a mix of Doom Metal, Stoner Rock and plain old Rock ‘n' Roll. But the album failed to amass any credit for quality production, the very same problem that plagued his former Wool operationsand ultimately saw both the production and music even fall through the cracks of mid-‘90's Grunge.

The act was busy over the millennium with the EP Dog Days (2000) and Flower Of Disease (2000) with G. Stuart Dahlquist on bassbefore they broke up in May 2002.
