A Is A

I

t all started when Karen Haley and Mark Delahanty met when Karen joined Mark's band Gilt. When that band broke up the pair formed a songwriting and performing partnership. In 1997 they brought their talent to the attention of 'Loggerhead Records', a company owned by one of the McCain brothers, Canada's food Czars. Producer Gary Moffet (ex-April Wine/ex-Sass Jordan) brought in Bruce Moffet (drums) and Stan Mizcek (both ex-Sass Jordan; bass) with Gary himself playing some guitar spots. Mark grew up in Montreal but was born in Boston Massachusetts, while Karen hailed from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Their debut album Thinking Chair (1998) offered a well-produced modern Pop album.
